Will Erling Haaland start for Man City vs Fulham? Injury round-up and FPL options

Erling Haaland has missed the last two matches for Manchester City due to a knock suffered last week in the Champions League on hi-return to Borussia Dortmund.

Erling Haaland has missed the last two matches for Manchester City

This ruled him out of last weekend's 1-0 win against Leicester City, before missing out on City's Champions League win in midweek against Sevilla. However, on this occasion he was likely to have missed out regardless due to Guardiola rotating his XI having already topped their group.

With just two matches to go until the World Cup, Guardiola will be hoping to call upon his star striker for those two games to overtake Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

Here is all the latest you need to know about Haaland's injury progress:

City fans will be boosted by images of the City striker returning to training on Thursday as they prepare to host Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

With just a knock being suffered against Dortmund, he was always likely to be back within the space of a couple of weeks, and Guardiola may have taken the chance to give his star man some rest after a grueling start to the season.

Speaking ahead of the Sevilla match on Wednesday, Guardiola was optimistic with regards to the fitness of the Premier League's top goalscorer, saying: "Erling will not be available for tomorrow.

"He feels better compared to Saturday and Sunday, but not 100 per cent. We don't want to take a risk as it makes no sense. Hopefully, he will be back for Fulham."

Haaland is still listed as having a 75% chance of playing this weekend, the same figure as last weekend, and this is likely to hinge on what Pep Guardiola has to say in his press conference on Friday ahead of the 3pm fixture with Fulham on Saturday.

While he is still listed as having the same chance of starting last weekend, the chances appear much more convincing following his return to training. However, 166,487 people at the time of writing have removed him from their teams this week, with 80.2% retaining his services.

Haaland leads the FPL points table with 117. Harry Kane is the next best on 83 points, with the Tottenham striker trailed by Haaland's City teammate Kevin de Bruyne on 81.
